- Lifetime eligibility
No matter what your future holds, you will always be eligible to join Navy Health thanks to your Defence Industry connection. This means that even if you are no longer employed in the Defence Industry you can continue your cover with Navy Health.
- Extended family eligibility
Through your employment connection in the Defence Industry your extended family is also eligible to join Navy Health and take out their own policy.

Government Initiatives
The Australian Government has put in place a number of initiatives to incentivise you to sign up to Health Insurance. These initiatives help ease pressure on the public hospital system and make private health insurance more affordable.
Australian Government Rebate
Reduces the amount you have to pay, subject to age and income testing.
Lifetime Health Cover
Is an accrued loading that is applied on your premium if you take out Hospital Cover later than 1 July following your 31st birthday.
Do you need Hospital cover or Extras cover?
Private Health Insurance comes in two forms: Hospital Cover, for when you need to be admitted into hospital, and Extras Cover, for your everyday health care services to maintain your health and wellbeing such as dental, optical, chiropractic and physiotherapy.
Hospital Cover
Navy Health’s Hospital cover allows you to receive treatment as a private patient in a private hospital, avoiding lengthy public health system wait lists, and the option to choose your own specialist. You can choose from three levels of cover: Gold, Silver+ and Bronze+.
Extras Cover
Extras cover allows you to claim back some of the costs of health care services and treatments, such as Dental and Optical, that are not covered by Medicare, reducing your out-of-pocket expenses. View and compare our three levels of cover.
Switching from another fund?
Switching to Navy Health is easier than you think, we will take care of the process for you! We’ll cancel your previous cover, waive waiting periods for services already covered, and even assist you in organising a refund from your previous fund, if needed. All you will need to worry about is choosing the right cover for you and your family.
