Hospital stays for COVID-19 treatment
If you are required to go to hospital for COVID-19 treatment, it is likely that you will be treated in a public hospital, which will be covered by Medicare. Should any of our members with hospital cover be admitted as a private patient for the treatment of COVID-19, Navy Health will ensure that your treatment is covered, regardless of the level of hospital cover you have. Please note members with extras cover only will not be eligible.
This is available to eligible members until 30 June 2022.
Access to Telehealth Services
Navy Health now offers the following Telehealth services on a permanent basis:
- Physiotherapy
- Psychology
- Speech Pathology
- Dietetics
Members with extras policies that cover those services will be able to access Telehealth consultations with a practitioner of their choice. This change is effective from 1 August 2021. Please note claims for these services can only be claimed manually via our app or via online member services.
Strive for Health
Navy Health offers a program to support your mental wellbeing.
It is common to experience feelings of anxiety and in some cases depression as a response to these unprecedented times. If you are feeling distressed or needing support, seeking support early can help you get back on your feet sooner.
Call Strive for Health on 1800 609 209 to seek professional help. You can talk to a health professional, including a Social Worker or a Registered Nurse easily by phone and get some support to get back on track.
